Question:
How old do you need to be to work at Gap?
Answer:
You must be 16 years of age before you are able to work for Gap.

Question:
What pay rates do Gap offer?
Answer:
Pay rates at Gap are competitive and in line with Government Legislation.

Question:
In which format may I upload my CV?
Answer:
You can upload your CV as a Word (.doc) or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) document.

Question:
I submitted my application a couple of days ago. How long will it take before I receive a response?
Answer:
You will receive an email acknowledging that your application has been received. If your application has been successful we will contact you within 2 weeks to schedule an interview with the hiring team.

Question:
Will I receive feedback as to why I was not given an interview for the applied position?
Answer:
Unfortunately due to the number of applications we receive we are unable to provide feedback to all applicants. However, if you attend an interview with us we will provide you with feedback should you be unsuccessful in your application.

Question:
What is the interview process like?
Answer:
Once we determine a match with an open position, you’ll be contacted by someone on the team.

We’ll set up interview meetings with other individuals related to this position. This may require more than one visit to any of our stores or head-quarters in London and Rugby, but our aim is to make the process as convenient and informative for you as possible.

Question:
What should I wear to my interview?
Answer:
Believe us when we say you don’t have to wear a suit and tie, unless you want to. We’re pretty casual around here, but we’re serious about working hard. If you’re looking for suggestions, we would suggest ‘business casual’ – but don’t be afraid to let your own personal style shine through.

Question:
How can I be sure that the position I find online hasn’t already been filled?
Answer:
Every effort will be made to remove the job posting as soon as a position is filled. You will receive an email acknowledging the receipt of your application and we will contact you if your qualifications match any open opportunities.

Question:
Do you have any part time positions?
Answer:
Yes. We have a number of part-time employment opportunities in our Gap stores and Head-quarters. Additionally, we offer full and part time positions at some of our stores during our peak seasons.

Question:
Does Gap hire on a temporary basis?
Answer:
Yes. During peak seasons (i.e. Holidays) we hire employees on temporary contracts within our Stores and the Distribution Centre. Look out for these positions on the website.

Question:
Do you offer work experience/placements/internships at Gap?
Answer:
Unfortunately we do not currently offer work placements/internships, however please look at our current vacancies for opportunities at entry level for Head Office.

Question:
Do you offer Graduate opportunities?
Answer:
We do not offer a Graduate Training Scheme, but we have great in-store opportunities for career progression, as well as entry level roles within our Head Offices.

Question:
How do I find out if there are positions available in a specific store?
Answer:
You can search for available positions from the Job Search page. Simply select the career area that matches your skills and experience, and your preferred location before clicking the Search button. You may also search according to free-text key words or further refine your search by combining these criteria.

Question:
At this moment in time, I have not located a vacancy which matches my interest. Can I still submit my CV online?
Answer:
If no suitable vacancies are currently available, you can opt to recieve vacancy alerts by email, according to your job preferences (career area and location). These are selected upon initial registration (along with the option to opt in or out of recieving email alerts) and may be changed at any time after through the Candidate Zone. Note that in order to access this, you will be required to login.

Question:
Is there an opportunity for career advancement between functions? Does Gap promote from within?
Answer:
Absolutely. There are opportunities across functions and countries where employees can express themselves, their ideas and potential every day. Gap believes in contributing to the personal and professional growth of people. This includes supporting opportunities within and between our headquarters. In fact, we work to promote internal opportunities to Gap employees before extending an offer to any external candidate.

Question:
Can I apply for a position in your head-quarters or stores from overseas?
Answer:
Yes. If you are not a EU citizen, you will simply need to provide the necessary documentation that proves you can legally work in the United Kingdom.

Question:
I want to work for Gap outside of the United Kingdom. How can I find out about job opportunities abroad?
Answer:
Visit our in-country job sites to apply for opportunities outside of the United Kingdom: North America & Canada, Japan, France and Italy. Please keep in mind that we are unable to sponsor work permits for many opportunities.
